Jay Bowerman (1876-1957) was a Republican attorney, Oregon state representative for Gilliam County, and acting governor of Oregon, 1910-1911. Papers include correspondence regarding his activities in support of Republican candidates, his law practice and family; correspondence and research notes for a proposed history of eastern Oregon bench and bar; newspaper clippings and political ephemera regarding campaigns; and a scrapbook regarding the 1909 Oregon Legislature.

Robert Duncan represented Jackson County in the Oregon House of Representatives and served in the U. S. Congress. Papers include programs, ephemera, campaign materials, correspondence, and diaries.

Belknap (1905-1996) listed most of the items in this collection in his 1968 work, "Oregon Imprints, 1845-1870," or in addendums to that work.
