Scrapbook on politics in Portland, Oregon
Scrapbook of newspaper clippings that cover political issues in Portland, Oregon, from 1915 to 1917, including the 1917 mayoral election, as well as City Commissioner George L. Baker (1868-1941) and Mayor Harry Russell Albee (1867-1950). Albee was mayor of Portland from 1913 to 1917. Baker won the 1917 mayoral election, and remained in office until 1933.

Neuberger (1906-2000) collected by Mary Jane Sills (née Christgau, 1922-2010), including correspondence from Maurine Neuberger, ephemera, a list of former staffers, and photographs. Sills worked as an aide to both senators from 1954 to 1967.

Three portrait photographs of Effie Simmons (1874-1961), and a letter to Simmons from Myrtle A. Johnson (1875-1935). Simmons was a member of the Portland Woman's Club, a regional director for the League of Women Voters, and the first woman to represent Multnomah County in the Oregon Legislature.
James Harvey Slater papers
James Harvey Slater was elected prosecuting attorney for the 5th Judicial District in 1866, served in the U.S. House from 1871-1873, and was a U.S. senator from Oregon from 1879-1885. Papers include correspondence; estate and family papers; reminiscences; and speeches, 1867-1885, on topics including economics, politics, tariffs, and slavery.

Papers relating to journalist Robert Arthur Smith's research and writing on Senator Wayne Morse. Includes copies of Morse's correspondence; Smith's correspondence and notes concerning Morse; materials relating to Morningside Hospital in Portland, Oregon; the Alaska Mental Health Bill of 1954; and typescript of Smith's 1962 book "The Tiger in the Senate."
Elmo Smith papers
Elmo Smith (1909-1968) established the Eastern Oregon Observer newspaper and served in the Oregon Legislature and as governor. Papers date from 1932 to 1956 and include diplomas, business cards, an appointment book, and a letter from C. T. Caulfield, commander of the U.S. Navy Training Center.

Collection includes correspondence, 1896-1968; documents relating to committees and commissions, 1949-1969, including Colleges for Oregon's Future, the Oregon Geographic Names Board, the Commission on the Rights, Liberties and Responsibilities of the American Indian, and the Oregon State Constitutional Revision Commission; and a last will and testament.
