Manuscript petition of the citizens of the Oregon Territory asking Congress to amend the land laws.
Samuel A. and Harriet T. Clarke papers
Papers of Samuel A. Clarke (1827-1909) and Harriet T. Clarke (1832-1890), including diaries, correspondence, writings, and genealogical materials. Samuel A. Clarke came to Oregon in 1850, and worked in the newspaper industry. In 1852, he married Harriet Talcott Buckingham, who had come to Oregon in 1851.
Correspondence concerning request for arms under U.S. Congress joint resolution of March 2, 1849
Collection consists of correspondence from U.S. Secretary of War Charles M. Conrad and the Ordnance Office concerning a request for arms and ammunition under a U.S. Congress joint resolution of March 2, 1849, as well as a manuscript copy of the resolution, which authorized the secretary of war "to furnish arms and ammunition to persons emigrating to the Territories of Oregon, California, and New Mexico."
Medorem and John D. Crawford papers
Papers of and relating to Medorem Crawford (1819-1891) and his brother John D. Crawford (1824-1877). Medorem Crawford emigrated to Oregon in 1842, held a number of political offices, and commanded military escorts for emigrants to Oregon during the U.S. Civil War. John D. Crawford emigrated to Oregon in 1847, served as a commissary officer during the Cayuse War, and worked in the mercantile business in Champoeg, Oregon, in the 1850s.

Letters, 1905-1912, regarding the life stories of William Delany and family, and one letter alleging that the Delanys kept a slave named Rachel Belden Delany. Collection also includes a document about land surveyed in Oregon.
Denney family papers
Property records, photographs, newspaper clippings, and genealogical materials relating to the family of Thomas H. and Berrilla King Denney. The Denneys came to Oregon in 1849, and settled on land that would later become part of Beaverton, Oregon, where Thomas Denney operated a sawmill.
William H. Dierdorff sketches and biography
Six ink and pencil sketches by William H. Dierdorff (1849-1903) with notations for hymns to perform at church services, and a brief biography of Dierdorff by his grandson. Dierdorff emigrated to Oregon in 1856, and after working as a civil engineer and draftsman, became a Presbyterian minister.
