Abstract

Collection includes 16 blueprint sheets with elevations, details, and plot plans of the memorial column at Astoria, Oregon, by architect Electus D. Litchfield. The Astoria Column is a concrete pillar built in 1926 to commemorate Euro-American exploration and settlement of the Columbia River region. It is painted with scenes from Oregon's history by the artist Attilio Pusterla.
