David B. Simpson Jr. (1898-1976) was a Portland civic leader and real estate agent. He served as a captain in World War I and was active in post-war development. Collection includes naturalization papers for David B. Simpson, 1890 and 1894; obituaries for David B. Simpson, Jr., 1976; correspondence, 1950-1983; award certificate from President Gerald Ford, 1950; and biographical information about Sir James Young Simpson.

Abstract Robert M. Wade (1835-1915) was born in Missouri and came to Oregon with his parents in 1850. He founded R. M. Wade & Co., dealers in agricultural implements, in 1865, serving as manager until 1913. Collection includes a photocopy obituary; a eulogy delivered by Emmet B. Williams; a booklet, "From Missouri to Oregon," with reminiscences of Wade's overland journey; and a photocopy letter from Wade Newbegin to Thomas Vaughan, 1989, containing historical information about R.
