Collection of materials assembled by the Oregon Historical Society relating to communications in Oregon, primarily consisting of scripts, catalogs, and other printed material relating to radio, television, video, and other media.

Merriman Holtz (1901-1958) was born in Portland, Oregon. He founded Film Adettes in 1931 and served as a consultant on the distribution of movies promoting war bond sales during World War II. Collection includes memoranda, film synopses, correspondence, speeches, and ephemera regarding the work of 16mm film distributors and exhibitors in promoting bond sales during the sixth and seventh War Loan drives.

Jesse G. Sill was born in 1881 in Illinois and died in 1981 in Portland, Oregon. He was a pioneer newsreel photographer and the first to take aerial photographs of Mt. Hood. Collection includes correspondence, 1911-1919; script synopses and lists of films, 1915-1948; a travel diary, 1915-1916; and a movie poster for the film "Lone Trapper," circa 1911-1948.
