Copy of the 1905 edition of Augustus J. C. Hare's travel guide for Rome, Italy, titled "Walks in Rome," with pencil annotations by architect A. E. Doyle (1877-1928). Doyle traveled in Europe for several months in 1906, and used this guide during those travels.

Photographs used in a 1974 exhibit at First Unitarian Church in Portland, Oregon, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the church building and of Jamieson Parker (1895-1939), the Portland architect who designed it. The exhibit focused on Parker and his work; the photographs in this collection were largely taken in the 1970s, and most depict Oregon residences and churches he designed, including First Unitarian.

Walter Gordon (born 1907) studied architecture at Princeton, Yale, and the University of Paris. He was a design consultant for the Portland Development Commission from 1962-1972. Collection includes design reviews for individual projects, correspondence, memos, drafts, and ephemera relating to Gordon's work with the commission.

Lithographic and watercolor illustrations depicting buildings in Portland, Oregon, designed by architect Isaac Hodgson, Jr., who worked in Portland during the early 1890s. The watercolors and one of the lithographs depict the Chamber of Commerce building; the other lithograph depicts the entrance to a proposed United Bank building.

Blueprints and original drawings of architectural plans, mostly for unidentified buildings, by the Portland, Oregon architect Justus F. Krumbein (1847-1907). These plans date from the period starting in the late 1870s when Krumbein worked independently. Krumbein notably helped design the Oregon State Capitol of 1876 with W. G. Gilbert.

Ink illustrations of historic buildings in Portland, Oregon; Astoria, Oregon; Forest Grove, Oregon; and Salt Lake City, Utah, by the architect Willard K. Martin (1930-1985). Martin was a Portland-based architect who was most known for his role in designing Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Papers and photographs of and relating to Albert E. Doyle (1877-1928), an architect from Portland, Oregon, and his family. Materials include photographs of buildings that Doyle designed, correspondence, a combination diary and sketchbook that Doyle kept while traveling in Europe, and biographical and genealogical materials. The collection was compiled by Doyle's granddaughter Marjorie Newhouse (1933-2015).
