Unprocessed collection including materials relating to forestry, forest management, logging, and sawmills in the Pacific Northwest, as well as certificates and diplomas. Stuart Moir (1892-1961) was chief forester for the Western Pine Association, forest counsel for the Western Forestry & Conservation Association, and consulting forester for Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Records consist of timber cruising logs, 1871-1890 and 1915-1917, for Lake and Malheur counties, Oregon, and for Boise, Elmore and Latch counties, Idaho. Also included is a field plat book for the Boise, Idaho, area.

James O'Keane (born 1871) was a timber assessor, surveyor, realtor, and trustee of Alaska United Copper Exploration in Seattle. Papers include correspondence regarding business; correspondence with Frank L. Huston; correspondence of Victor H. Beckman; correspondence and records of Alaska United Copper Exploration; timber cruise notebooks; and papers of Dole Lumber Co. and Northern Pacific Railways.

Records of a short-lived organization that was formed in 1951 to address concerns about logging truck safety on the Oregon's highways.

Oral history interview with John Osborn, conducted by Clark Hansen in two sessions, on April 8 and April 12, 1999, as part of the Columbia River Dissenters Oral History Series. Osborn discusses connections between the history of the Northern Pacific Railroad land grants, logging practices of companies such as Weyerhaeuser, and heavy metal pollution in the Pacific Northwest.
