Manuscript and typescript correspondence of Elijah Coalman, mostly to Esther Watson, 1960-1970, regarding biographical data, climbs on Mount Hood, and efforts to have his memoirs published. Coalman (1881-1970), known as "Lige," was an Oregon mountaineer.

Abstract

Oral history interview with Donald G. Onthank conducted by Dorothy C. Rich and Dick F. LaPore on October 29 and November 12, 1977. Onthank discusses his mountaineering experiences in the Cascade mountains of Oregon and Washington, in the Columbia River Gorge, and on Mount Shasta in California in the early 20th century.

Abstract Donald Onthank (1892-1981) was a mountaineer and was active in the Mazamas. He made numerous ascents of Mt. Hood and was the first endowed life member in the American Alpine Club.
