The Portland Grade Teachers' Association was founded in 1912 to improve working conditions for teachers and raise and maintain professional standards of elementary school teachers. Records include minutes, membership lists, scrapbooks, constitution and by-laws, ledgers, newsletters, newspaper clippings, and letters.
