Papers and records relating to the business interests of Philip Buehner (1858-1940), an engineer and lumberman. Buehner developed municipal water-supply projects in Washington state and Oregon, and, in partnership with with Wolff & Zwicker Iron Works, supplied pipelines for the Bull Run water system for Portland, Oregon. Buehner also operated multiple Oregon lumber companies.

Collection includes correspondence, financial records and legal documents of the D. P. Thompson Company, regarding investments and properties of David P. Thompson's estate; personal correspondence to Mary Relief Thompson, wife of David P. Thompson; and microfilm of letters sent to David P. Thompson from family members in Cadiz, Ohio. Thompson (1834-1901) was a businessman and mayor of Portland, Oregon.

Papers relating to the business career and family of Thomas Kerr, Jr. (1910-1982). Kerr lived in Portland, Oregon, and was an executive of several grain trading firms, including Kerr Gifford & Co. Inc., Kerr Pacific Corporation, and Helix Milling Company.

Ernest Boyd MacNaughton (1880-1960) served as president of Portland's First National Bank, president of the Oregonian Publishing Company, and president of Reed College. Papers include incorporation documents of Manhattan Company, 1925-1931, and scrapbooks, 1911-1918, regarding MacNaughton's career.
