Merriman Holtz papers
Merriman Holtz (1901-1958) was born in Portland, Oregon. He founded Film Adettes in 1931 and served as a consultant on the distribution of movies promoting war bond sales during World War II. Collection includes memoranda, film synopses, correspondence, speeches, and ephemera regarding the work of 16mm film distributors and exhibitors in promoting bond sales during the sixth and seventh War Loan drives.

Edgar Horner account of the sinking of the S.S. Alaska and related materials
Edgar Horner's account of the sinking of the S.S. Alaska off Cape Mendocino, California, in 1921, and related newspaper clippings and a map. The Alaska was a steamship traveling from Portland, Oregon, to San Francisco, California, when it hit Blunt's Reef and sank, killing 42 people. Horner (1888-1974) was one of the surviving passengers.

John B. Horner collection

These include diagrams and documents concerning the Kalapuya mounds; the text of an address Horner delivered to the Oregon Pioneer Association; and a letter from Gertrude Balch Ingalls with a biographical sketch of her brother, Frederic Homer Balch. Horner (1856-1933) taught English and history at Oregon Agricultural College (now Oregon State University).
