Willis E. Mahoney papers regarding a debt to Scott Bullitt
Willis Mahoney (June 13, 1895-June 2, 1968) was a frequently controversial mayor of Klamath Falls, serving two terms in 1930s. Scott Bullitt was a lawyer, aspiring politician and prominent Democrat who died of liver cancer in 1932. Collection consists of correspondence and other documents regarding a debt of $5,000 owed to Bullitt that Mahoney was unable to pay, and legal action brought by Dorothy S. Bullitt, Scott Bullitt's widow, in an attempt to collect.

In Oregon, until 1913, justices of the peace presided over their own courts, called Justice Courts. This collection contains criminal and civil docketing records of nine Justice Court precincts in Multnomah County from 1880 until 1908.

Collection includes sentencing documents from the Lane County Circuit Court, 1923, for Tom Murray on the charge of "Assault with a dangerous weapon"; sentencing document from the Umatilla County Circuit Court, 1924, for James Willos on the charge of "Larceny in dwelling"; signed statement of Tom Murray, James Willos and Ellsworth Kelley, describing the crime that took place.

Thomas Benton Odeneal served as editor of the Corvallis Gazette, as a Benton County judge, and as Oregon Superintendent of Indian Affairs. Collection consists of manuscript correspondence, 1873-1883, regarding cases coming before the Oregon Supreme Court. Correspondents include Ellis G. Hughes and William W. Chapman.

The Oregon Text Book Case involved a group of taxpayers in Oregon City suing to stop their school district from furnishing books for a Catholic elementary school. Collection includes legal documents presented before or issued by the Circuit Court of Clackamas County, the Oregon State Supreme Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court, including briefs, memoranda, depositions, transcripts, opinions, appeals, and judgments.
