Abstract The Baldwin Sheep and Land Company was established in 1873 by Dr. David M. Baldwin at Hay Creek, Oregon. Located in present-day Jefferson County, the company became one of the state's largest producers of wool and purebred sheep. The company ceased operation in 1910. The Hay Creek Ranch continued stock-raising operations at the same location under different ownership.
