W. W. Carl papers
Papers of W. W. Carl (1869-1938), a carpenter and farmer who lived in the area of Carlton, Oregon. The bulk of the papers consists of diaries that Carl kept from 1897 to 1905. Other papers include information about materials used for buildings he helped to construct; descriptions of land that his mother, Mary J. Carl, willed to him; and transcriptions of his diary entries, made by his great-grandson, John A. Beutler.

Letters to Cymbre from Ann Carpenter and Jennie Downing
Collection consists of four manuscript letters to "Cymbre" (surname unknown) from an aunt and a cousin. The letters, sent from Salem, Sublimity, and Stayton, Oregon, regard family matters, description of Oregon, and a factory accident in which a family member, Everett Downing, was badly injured.
Carpenter family papers
The Carpenter family owned large amounts of land in Portland, Oregon, and Clark County, Washington. Family members included Gwendoline Carpenter, Isabelle Carpenter and Royal E. Carpenter. Collection includes title abstract and warranty deeds, 1900-1956, for land in Portland and Clark County; account books, 1910-1943; plat maps of Carpenter's Addition in Marysville, Washington, undated; and miscellaneous documents, 1892-1956.

Mary Jane Carr papers
Mary Jane Carr was a children's writer and editor of the children's page in the Oregonian newspaper. Papers include biographical information and correspondence, 1916-1976, concerning Carr's works, the Disney film "Westward ho the wagons," and the gift of the manuscript of "Young Mac of Fort Vancouver" to the Kerlan collection at the University of Minnesota. Also included are manuscripts, typescripts, and clippings of poems, stories, scripts, and songs.
