Biographical note

Dorothy Lawson McCall (1888-1982) was an Oregon author. Daughter of financier Thomas Lawson, she married Henry "Hal" McCall in 1911. The couple ran "Westernwold," a ranch on the Crooked River near Prineville, Oregon, and had five children, including Oregon Governor Tom Lawson McCall. McCall's books include "Ranch Under the Rimrock" (published 1968), a memoir of her early life on the Crooked River, and "The Copper King's Daughter" (published 1972).
