Collection consists of six black-and-white nitrate negatives, taken in approximately 1909, that depict the Council Crest Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon. Photographs depict a merry-go-round, a scenic railway, a water log ride called the Trip Up The Columbia, and the park grounds, possibly under construction.

Historical Note

The Council Crest Amusement Park opened in 1907 at the end of the Council Crest streetcar line in Portland, Oregon. The park featured an observatory, ice cream parlor, photo studio, and dance pavilion. In 1909, a merry-go-round, a scenic railway, and a water log ride called the Trip Up The Columbia were added. The amusement park ceased operations in 1929.
