Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a poster from 1976 advertising the first perennial Poetic Hoohow and Spring Trip. The bulk of the poster's area consists of art depicting a man wearing clown makeup and manacles against a repeating pattern of circular images of clouds inside squares of line art. The upper left corner of the poster reads, "ITSART (Intrepid Trips' Society for Aesthetic Revolutionary Training) presents," while the upper right corner reads, "A Poetic Hoohaw." The lower left corner lists the event's headliners and activities, while the lower right corner provides the date of the event, Sunday, June 6, and lists where to purchase tickets.

Historical Note
The first perennial Poetic Hoohaw and Spring Trip (PHAST) was held on June 6, 1976, at McArthur Court at the University of Oregon in Eugene. The event, which was put on by Intrepid Trips' Society of Aesthetic Revolutionary Training (ITSART), featured poetry, music, and theater. Headliners included authors Ken Kesey and William S. Burroughs, poet Ann Waldman, and Oregon Poet Laureate William Stafford.
