Articles of incorporation for the Greenback Telephone Company of Shedd, Oregon. The document lists all members of the company and states that they wished to incorporate in order to carry out the company's objectives without profit to the company or to its members. The name of one member, Dr. H. E. Penland, has been crossed out with pencil. Article III names O. H. Froman as president, Frank Pimm as secretary, and T. R. Springer as vice president. That article also states that officers were to be elected on the second Monday of each January at the Greenback School House.

Historical Note

Shedd is a town in Linn County, Oregon. A post office named Boston Mills was established near there in 1869. In 1871, the post office's name was changed to Shedds after Frank Shedd, who owned the land where the post office was built. The railroad south from Albany began referring to the community as Shedd in 1899, and the post office changed the name to Shedd in 1915. The population of Shedd was 213 in 2020.

Biographical Note

Otho H. Froman (1890-1984) was a farmer from Oakville, Oregon, who worked on a wheat farm near Pendleton, Oregon, and at Thompson Mills in Shedd, Oregon. Frank DeWitt Pimm (1893-1957) was a farmer and schoolteacher in Shedd. Thomas R. Springer (1896-1987) was a farmer in Shedd.
