Historical Note

Bowers Junction, Oregon, was established in 1914 when the Oregon Electric Railway built a connecting rail line between Forest Grove and Cornelius Pass. It was named after Henry Bauer, Sr., who owned the property. The spelling was possibly changed to avoid confusion in train orders.

Burlington Northern Railroad sold off railroads in Oregon in the 1980s, including track between Bowers Junction and Banks. Some of the railroad routes in the area became the route for the Banks-Vernonia Trail.
