This collection consists primarily of 37 tintype mug shots, many in poor condition, taken circa 1890. Most of the images depict unidentified people, including one woman; those who are identified are Lee Dao Yin, Paul Bressenhaur, and Walker A. Whitney. The collection also includes photocopies of paper frames for some of the mug shots. The original frames were discarded due to damage; one was retained in the collection as an example. Each frame bears a handwritten name identifying the person depicted, but the frames had become separated from the photographs they originally contained. Names written on the frames include: Abbie Wallace, Thomas Crowley, Matt Dudey, Thompson, Joe Ballard, William Baiuson, Joe Walton, Tom Coleman, Frank Deville, James Casey, Andrew Cooley, William A. Willis, Phil Dumir, J. W. Travis, Nick Swarth, Gus Dithwar and William Brady. Also in the collection are photocopies of handwritten information about two of the people depicted, as well as a photocopy of two tintype mug shots that were discarded due to damage.
