Scope and Contents

Two pages, one 18.6 x 25.5 cm and one 30.5 x 23.1 cm, probably taken from a French edition or editions of "An account of a geographical and astronomical expedition to the northern parts of Russia" by Martin Sauer, published in 1802. Each page is labeled as Plate VII and shows the same three engravings, attributed to "Adam," with titles in French. The topmost engraving is titled "Vue des Etablissements de Schelikoff dans l'Ile de Kadiak"; it depicts the Russian outpost on Kodiak Island in Alaska, showing buildings on a shoreline. The center engraving, titled "Extrémité de L'Ile d'Yanaga," shows a mountain peak, and the bottom engraving, titled "Ile d'Atcha," depicts peaks on Atka Island in the Aleutian Islands.
