Scope and Contents
Silent, black and white home movie shot at the Pendleton Round-Up in Pendleton, Oregon, by an unknown filmmaker in September 1927. The film was recorded on one reel of 16mm film and is approximately 10 minutes long. Footage includes rodeo events, scenes of bulls being tied up, a parade of horses, and Native participants in the Round-Up.

Historical Note
The Pendleton Round-Up has been held in Pendleton, Oregon, since 1910, and features rodeo events including barrel racing, calf roping, and steer wrestling, as well as a parade and the Happy Canyon night show. The Happy Canyon show was launched in the early years of the Round-Up and depicts the life of Native peoples before white settlement, the arrival of white settlers, and subsequent development of the West. Members of the Umatilla, Cayuse, and Walla Walla tribes, as well as other tribes of the Northwest, have participated in the Round-Up from the inception of the event.
