Five black and white copy prints, circa 1950, of the exterior and interior of the Henry Miller house in Southwest Portland, Oregon. The images include trees on the grounds, the exterior of the front of the house, a sitting room with a fireplace, a sitting room with a sofa and piano, and a bedroom.

Biographical note

Henry Miller, was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1814 and immigrated to the United States while a young man. He crossed the plains to Oregon in 1853 and settled near the town of Milwaukie. He ran a large orchard for a few years, then moved into Portland, Oregon, and engaged in business as a florist and nurseryman. He died in Portland in 1894.

Abstract

Five black and white copy prints of the exterior and interior of the Henry Miller house in Southwest Portland, Oregon. Miller (1814-1894) was born in Germany, immigrated to the United States, and traveled to Oregon in 1853. He became a nurseryman and florist in Portland.
