Scope and Contents
Photographs and postcards, circa 1920-1939, of and belonging to Madeline and Roscoe Nelson. Subjects include outdoor activities, such as camping, swimming, picnicking, horse racing, and golf. Other photographs and postcards depict locations, including Cannon Beach, Oregon; Multnomah Falls, Oregon; the view of the Columbia River Gorge from Crown Point; Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood; the Indian Ford Guest Ranch in Sisters, Oregon; the Meier & Frank building in Portland, Oregon; and the Grotto in Portland. Also included are several black and white prints of unidentified houses, stamped with the name and address of the Root & Kerr architecture firm in Portland; portraits of Roscoe Nelson and photographs of Nelson and associates; color postcards depicting restaurants, hotels, and landscapes in various Oregon locations; and a 1932 photograph depicting every judge and lawyer in Portland, with identifications.
