Scope and Contents

Album containing 93 black and white photographs depicting personnel, buildings, grounds, and events at the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in Portland, Oregon. The album belonged to William Russell MacKenzie, auditor of the exposition; his name is printed in gold on the cover, and an early page of the album is an invitation for Mackenzie to attend the exposition's formal opening. Photographs in the album include night scenes, interiors and exteriors of buildings, exhibits, the midway, and livestock. The album also contains portraits of people, primarily men associated with the exposition, including MacKenzie, Paul Messinger, I. N. Fleischner, H. W. Goode, A. L. Mills, Samuel Connell, Henry E. Reed, W. D. Fenton, Theodore B. Wilcox, Oskar Huber, John A. Wakefield, D. R. Francis, George E. Chamberlain, Lou Louis, Theodore Hardee, Frank L. Merrick, Robert Livingstone, Joaquin Miller, J. C. Ainsworth, Henry E. Dosch, and D. C. Freeman.
