Scope and Contents
Album containing 12 card photographs, 11 black and white and 1 hand-colored, circa 1869-1900. Nearly all the photographs are studio portraits depicting Bessie Thompson Teal (nee Bessie M. Thompson) at various ages, from 2 to her late 30s. The album includes one portrait of an unidentified child. Also in the collection are two loose items: a small cartoon of three figures, with the handwritten inscription "Love from Genevieve / Paris"; and a handwritten note with biographical details about Bessie Thompson Teal.

Biographical note
Bessie Thompson Teal (1867-1943) was the daughter of Oregon politician David P. Thompson (1834-1901) and his wife, Mary Meldrum Thompson (1842-1938). She married Portland, Oregon attorney Joseph Nathan Teal (1858-1929), with whom she had a daughter, Ruth (1895-1955).
