Administrative history
Established in 1889, the mission of the Young Men's Christian Association of Albany, Oregon, was "the improvement of the spiritual, moral, mental, social and physical conditions of young men." The first meeting was held in the First Presbyterian Church of Albany in response to an announcement by Noel H. Jacks, traveling secretary for the Y.M.C.A. of the Pacific Northwest. The first officers were W. H. Lee, president; M. O. Brink, vice president; C. D. Woodworth, secretary; and E. F. Fox, treasurer.
