Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a calendar for 1978. Each month includes an illustration by Don MacGillivray of a historic building in Portland, Oregon. These buildings were located in East Portland, Albina, Linnton, Sellwood, and St. Johns, which were all separate cities before being annexed to Portland. Buildings depicted include residences; American Legion Post 98; Immaculate Heart Catholic Church; the Smithson Block; the Bank of Linnton; the Knights of Columbus Lodge; and Caldwell's General Store.

Biographical Note

Don B. MacGillivray is a resident of Portland, Oregon. He was a member of the Buckman Community Association, and in the 1970s he led historic walking tours of the Buckman neighborhood in southeast Portland.
