Scope and Contents

One album containing 25 black and white photographs of scenes in Oregon and Washington state, 1900, most with the signature of J. F. Ford. A significant number of the photographs depict logging scenes. Others are of places in the Columbia River Gorge, including Rooster Rock, Cape Horn, a fish wheel near Bonneville, and The Dalles. Also included are photographs of Mount Hood and Mount Rainier; the steamer Bailey Gatzert; a shipwreck on Clatsop Beach; a cottage built of drift logs in Seaside, Oregon; and construction of a log raft in Stella, Washington.
