Little Girl in Wallowa Country

 Collection
Identifier: Coll 494

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of Delight C. Wiebe's reminiscences, re-typed by her daughter Rose Mary Schuette. The reminiscences detail Wiebe's childhood memories growing up on a ranch near Enterprise, Oregon, and in Elgin, Oregon, during the 1910s. Some family photographs are included. The reminiscences also include a preface by Schuette, explaining that they were based on letters that Wiebe wrote to the Enterprise Chieftain newspaper in the 1960s, and that she later wrote the combined reminiscences for publication but was unsuccessful in finding a publisher. The last two pages provide the lyrics to a song that Wiebe's father knew.
