Scope and Contents

Collection consists of 212 black and white photographs, circa 1910, in five albums, designated Albums 543-547 by the Oregon Historical Society Research Library. A printed label on the inside front cover of each album reads: "Presented to Salem Board of Trade by Wm. McMurray, General Passenger Agent of the Oregon Railroad & Navigation Company and Southern Pacific Company - Lines in Oregon." Photographs depict scenes from the agricultural industry and agricultural exhibitions in Salem and the Willamette Valley, including livestock, apples, cherries, fruit orchards, farming practices, migrant farm workers, and hop yards. Album 545 also includes images of the Salem mounted police, parades, the state Capitol and members of the Salem Trade Board.
