Scope and Contents

Collection consists of 199 black and white photographs, 4 tintypes, 7 cyanotypes, and 1 painting in 2 albums (designated Album 354 and Album 355), and 2 loose black and white photographs, circa 1865-1899. Album 354 includes professional portraits of members of the Bailey, Price, Brooks, Hopper, Mellon, Roberts, Westcott, and Stroud families. Album 355 includes snapshots of rural areas in North Carolina, Florida, Key West and Arizona, homesteaders, including Black homesteaders, and livestock.

Abstract

Collection consists of black and white photographs, and a small number of tintypes, most compiled into two photograph albums. One album includes professional portraits of members of the Bailey, Price, Brooks, Hopper, Mellon, Roberts, Westcott, and Stroud families. The other includes snapshots of rural areas, people, and livestock in North Carolina, Florida, Key West and Arizona.
