Scope and Contents

The collection contains the papers of Henry Ernst Dosch, primarily relating to the various expositions in which he participated. Materials include Dosch's citizenship application; correspondence and travel expenses; tickets for various expositions; an album of photographs of the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, and of Dosch's family; an album of photographs of Charleston, South Carolina; an album of photographs of the Charleston Exposition; a program for Memorial Day celebrations in Portland in 1918; and drawings of Dosch's Fine Arts Juror Medal at the Alaska-Yukon Pacific Exposition and the proposed New York State Building for same. Also included are the publications "Charleston and the Exposition," "Descriptive Catalog of the German Arts and Crafts at the Universal Exposition, St. Louis, 1904," and "The Sculpture and Murals of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition." Additional materials are a scrapbook of newspaper clippings relating to the Oregon Commission to the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha, 1898; certificates from various expositions; and an 1874 passport for Dosch.
