Biographical note
Admiral Sir Charles Edward Madden, 2nd Baronet, GCB (1906-2001) was an officer in the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom, serving as the Commander-in-Chief of the Home Fleet from 1963 to 1965. He had a lifelong interest in painting, and after his retirement he participated in numerous exhibitions.
