Scope and Contents
This oral history interview with Reverend Clarence T. Abbott was conducted by Roberta Watts at the William Temple House in Portland, Oregon, on July 6, 1978, as part of the Oregon Historical Society Research Library's oral history program.

Biographical note
Reverend Clarence Thomas Abbott was born in Alameda, California, in 1921. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and served in the Chaplain Corps during World War II. He attended divinity school in Denver, Colorado, after the war, and became a priest in the Episcopal Church. He was a mental health counselor at William Temple House in Portland, Oregon. He died in 1990.
