Biographical note

Sophia Jarvis Holman (1812-1867) was born in London, England, and emigrated to the United States in 1849. She lived in Brooklyn, New York, until her husband's death in 1865, when the family came to Portland, Oregon.

Collection consists of a manuscript account book containing an account of the distribution of Sophia Holman's estate, 1867-1870, kept by her son, Charles Holman.
