Digitized item from the Yasui Brothers business records, Mss 2949. The item, written in a pre-World War II Japanese script, is a newspaper clipping from Oshu Nippo dated to circa 1936 which features a compendium of a speech given by Minoru Yasui at an event hosted by the Japan Society of Portland to honor outstanding graduates from Oregon state universities. In the speech Yasui discusses the role of Japanese American citizens in American society. It has been translated into English and modern Japanese.
