Digitized version of Portland architect A. E. Doyle's travel diary and sketchbook documenting his 1906 "grand tour" of Europe. Doyle spent much of that year in Europe, studying at the American School of Archaeology in Athens and visiting a number of countries. The book includes Doyle's observations about locations he visited, as well as sketches of structures and architectural and ornamental design elements he observed. The first entry is dated April... 21, 1906 and the last entry is dated November 6, 1906.
