This recording is one of 10 interviews and conversations about the Portland Art Museum that were conducted or gathered by Robert Peirce, who was then the museum's librarian, from approximately 1990 to 1993. In the recording, the council members discuss the importance of volunteers in the operations of the museum, and speak at length about running the Rental Sales Gallery, which allows museum members to rent artworks to display in their homes.
