Tape 52, Side 1, through Tape 53, Side 1. In the thirty-sixth interview session, conducted on August 16, 1993, Atiyeh continues to discuss his second term as Oregon governor. He talks about his staff, about bringing Waseda University to Oregon, and about his use of the Oregon National Guard. He discusses his audits during his governorship; talks about the national deficit at the time of the interview in 1993; and shares his opinions as a conservative regarding social issues.
