Scope and Contents
Tape 14, Side 1, through Tape 15, Side 1. In the tenth interview session, conducted on January 19, 1993, Atiyeh discusses his collection of Lewis and Clark Exposition memorabilia. He then continues discussing serving in the Oregon Senate, with a focus on the 1971, 1972 interim, and 1973 legislative sessions. He talks about legislative pay, and about balancing work and family life while serving in the Legislature. He discusses his committee assignments, his fellow senators, and legislation, particularly regarding land-use planning. He also describes his committee management style.
