Scope and Contents
Tape 1, Side 1, through Tape 3, Side 1. In the first interview session, conducted on July 15, 2011, Heintzman discusses his family background and early life in Rapid City, South Dakota; in Denver, Colorado; and in Seattle, Washington. He talks about his relationship with his parents and siblings, about his early education, and about his early jobs. He also shares his reasons for joining the U.S. Army Reserves. He talks about his experience as a person with a stutter, and about his experience studying police science at Washington State University.
