Scope and Contents
Tape 2, Side 2, through Tape 3, Side 2. In the second interview session, conducted on July 3, 2000, Marbet continues to discuss his reasons for living a simple life. He also talks about his daughter and her career. He speaks about different types of environmental activism he was involved in, including his actions to oppose River Island Sand and Gravel. He discusses ballot initiatives he was involved in, other activists he worked with, and his work to oppose the construction of nuclear power plants at Pebble Springs in Gilliam, Oregon. He speaks extensively about health issues and pollution caused by nuclear power plants. He discusses energy forecasts that incorrectly predicted increased power consumption.
