Scope and Contents
Tape 1, Side 1, through Tape 2, Side 1. In the first interview session, conducted on June 30, 2000, Marbet discusses his family background and early life in upstate New York. He talks about his experience in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and describes how he ended up in Portland, Oregon, in 1969. He discusses his opposition to nuclear power, and talks about petitioning against the construction of nuclear power plants in Boardman, Oregon, and in other parts of the country. He shares his reasons for living a simple life.
