Scope and Contents
This series consists of papers relating to Goodwin's other professional activities, as well as correspondence and memorabilia that span multiple phases of his career. Activities include Goodwin's involvement with multiple bar associations; his involvement with the University of Oregon, from which he had received his bachelor's degree and law degrees; and visits to and audits of law schools, as well as teaching. Also included in this series are papers relating to Goodwin's interest in the relationship between the judiciary and journalists, and in the balance between the right to a fair trial and the freedom of the press, as well as speeches and published articles by Goodwin. Correspondence includes communications with or relating to other judicial figures, and some personal letters.
