Scope and Contents
Tape 4, Side 1, through Tape 5, Side 2. In the third and final interview session, conducted on September 30, 1999, Rohlf discusses the 1994 decision by Judge Malcolm F. Marsh to throw out the National Marine Fisheries Service's biological opinion, and talks about the revised opinion issued by the agency in 1995. He describes the process of transporting juvenile fish around dams by barge, speaks about the effectiveness of existing environmental law to protect fish, and discusses litigation he was involved in regarding environmental law and the Columbia River Basin. He closes the interview by talking about the future of salmon in the basin.
