Scope and Contents
In this 11-page typewritten account, Retlaw W. Haynes (born 1906) shares his memories of spending summers with his family at Spirit Lake near Mount St. Helens beginning in 1922, and describes the cabin his father built on the lake. He writes about mining operations in the area, about Mount St. Helens Lodge owner Harry Truman, and about boating on the lake. He closes with comments about Spirit Lake transcribed from the visitor log his parents kept at their cabin.
