Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Records of the parent organization of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, later the Oregon Symphony. The collection consists primarily of minutes of the board of directors, 1914-1964; early financial records from the 1910s through the early 1960s; and materials relating to early music directors Mose Christensen, Carl Denton, and Willem Van Hoogstraten. Also included are articles of incorporation, by-laws, reports on reorganization from the 1960s, contracts from 1922-1937, and ephemera. Microfilm contains a list of contributors, 1963-1964.
