He talks about some of the academic articles he had published in the 1970s. He speaks about his experiences teaching at Stanford University in 1972, and in Hamburg, Germany, in 1975, and about participating in a German celebration of the U.S. bicentennial. He also talks about the 1972 national elections. He talks about a textbook he wrote and used during his final year of teaching at the University of Oregon.
